The ewe is pregnant for 152 days, this can vary depending on breed and environmental factors.

The graph below shows the growth of the foetus, udder development and placenta. It can clearly be seen how rapidly the foetus grows in the last 6 weeks of gestation.


During this time the ewe will be under a management program by the shepherd, we will look at these management procedures in the next chapter.
